Robin Mabe, 70, of Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 24, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert Alston Mabe and Ann Johnson Warlick Mabe.
Robin was an active member of Mt. Home Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, was a councilor, and taught Sunday school. He was a 1974 graduate of Freedom High School, earned his cosmetology license from McDowell Tech in 1981, and earned his bachelor of the arts from UNC Asheville. Along with his wife, Robin owned and operated Headlines Salon. He served on the advisory board and as an adjunct instructor for the cosmetology program at Western Piedmont Community College. He enjoyed music and antique cars, and he loved driving his Ford Model A. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Rhonda McDaniel Mabe; children, Raven Anderson, Dylan Anderson (Amber), and Robin Watters (Jeremy); grandchildren, Joleigh Anderson, Layla Anderson, Kaylee Watters, Carter Watters, and Raylan Watters; sisters-in-law, Debra Smith, Barbara Guinn, Patricia Eastridge, and Kathy Culbertson; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, his salon family and Mt. Home family; canine companions, Reicker, Diamond, Pongo, Maggie Mabe, his feline fur-babies; and his chickens.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Ethan Cromer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Home Baptist Church, 2272 Mt. Home Church Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Rhonda, when I hear about about Robin it brought back so many memories of my own loss. I know how much u both have gone through together and the support u gave each other. Support so many don't have. Dear Rhonda and family, I was very saddened hearing of Robin's passing. I have known Robin since we were in Kindergarten. He was always kind, polite, and always soft spoken. t want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the coming days.

What a wonderful, Christian man. We think the world of Robin and Rhonda and were so saddened by the news of his sudden departure. Such a talented man and he will be sorely missed, not only in his profession but in his church as well. We simply cannot say enough good things about him. Robin was a gentlemen and a friend to everyone! He had a sweet loving spirit and a Joy to be around! His love for his precious wife and familyand pets was an inspiration! He was a top notch hairdresser and his haircuts were perfection! He will truly be missed and was a blessing to know him! I will see you again, Friend!
My thoughts and prayers are with you Ronda, all your family, and all those animal friends y’all loved and cared for through your lives together. Robin is one of the best men I have known, and I remember the last thing I said to him I got a chuckle, it will be remembered. Robin will be missed, but never forgotten.
