Robin Mabe, 70, of Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 24, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert Alston Mabe and Ann Johnson Warlick Mabe.
Robin was an active member of Mt. Home Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, was a councilor, and taught Sunday school. He was a 1974 graduate of Freedom High School, earned his cosmetology license from McDowell Tech in 1981, and earned his bachelor of the arts from UNC Asheville. Along with his wife, Robin owned and operated Headlines Salon. He served on the advisory board and as an adjunct instructor for the cosmetology program at Western Piedmont Community College. He enjoyed music and antique cars, and he loved driving his Ford Model A. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Rhonda McDaniel Mabe; children, Raven Anderson, Dylan Anderson (Amber), and Robin Watters (Jeremy); grandchildren, Joleigh Anderson, Layla Anderson, Kaylee Watters, Carter Watters, and Raylan Watters; sisters-in-law, Debra Smith, Barbara Guinn, Patricia Eastridge, and Kathy Culbertson; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, his salon family and Mt. Home family; canine companions, Reicker, Diamond, Pongo, Maggie Mabe, his feline fur-babies; and his chickens.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Ethan Cromer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Home Baptist Church, 2272 Mt. Home Church Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

So sorry to hear of Robin's passing. I had not seen him or his wife Rhonda in years, but I remember them as one of the sweestest most perfectly matched couples you would ever meet...always a smile on both of their faces. I know they were highly thought of in the cosmetology business with certainly a successful business of their own. Thnking of Rhonda and the family.

Robin was an exceptional man in many ways and he will be sorely missed by family and friends. He was a servant of God and I'm sure his rewards in Heaven are abundant.
Rhonda, I’m so sorry for your loss. He was such a good man if you ever need somebody to talk to I’m here and wants you to go back to work. Let me know cause I need my hair trimmed. I know this is a very hard time for you. My wish now is for God to wrap his arms around you and walk with you through this sad time. You know that all you have to do is ask you and he’ll be there. Everyday since Harold went to live with God.
