Robert “Bob” Ramsey, 88, of Morganton, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Clyde Ramsey and Ruth Mayse Ramsey.
Bob was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Glen Alpine. He was a veteran of the NC National Guard and retired from the Lilly Corporation.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Christy Edwards (James) and Brandon Ramsey (Brandon Letterman); granddaughter, Summer Ramsey; brothers, Wayne and Jerry Ramsey; sisters, Lola Morrow and Helen Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Moore Ramsey; brothers, Junior and James Ramsey; and sisters, Mary Ann Gilreath, Marie Smith, and Betty Richards.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2026 at First Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Jeff Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Bob was a Good Man and came to Church all He could. He was a trusted Trustee for First Freewill Baptist Church for years. He will be missed.
Christy and family,I have known Bob and your family for many years I admired Bob for his dedication to you and your family and his faith in God.You are all really my extended family and I know you will really miss your dad but I know you also know he’s not suffering any more,I will surely miss seeing him when you come to visit.
