Patsy Aileen Carswell, 79, already an angel, earned her wings Friday, December 16, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on April 14, 1943, she was the first twin of the late Reid Carswell and Ora Lee Duckworth Carswell. Patsy was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and continued her love for learning throughout her life. Knowledge is power, and she was one strong lady. Miss Carswell was a member of Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church. Spiritual growth was very important to her, and she ministered to her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Lorene Carswell (her twin) and Judith Glenn; brother, Douglas Carswell; niece, Felicia; and many devoted friends.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Otis Glenn, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Tamika Garrison officiating. A private graveside service will be held Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380 or to Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church, 2698 NC Highway 181, Morganton, NC 28655.

Teenie, Judy, and Doug, God bless you. I know how each of you loved your precious sister. I enjoyed working with Patsy and Teenie, as well. We all shared our mutual birthdays of the 14th. Those birthday celebrations at Annabell's are treasured memories. Angel she was and is.
