Julie Elaine Epley of Morganton, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Born in Avery County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ray Pagan and Sarah Isaacs Johnson.
Although a private person, Julie stated that if anyone asked how she wanted to be remembered, it would be “I give Jesus credit for everything good in my life. I love my husband and sister forever. I was crazy about animals and loved Snickers.”
Julie is survived by her husband, Dean Epley; and a sister, Lisa Welch.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Don Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Julie was one of the most precious caring people that I've ever known in my life I loved her personalty, her smil! she was beautiful inside and out! I'm gonna miss her for a little while, but I'll see her soon! I'm praying for you, Dean. I know this is a hard time of the year for you. My daughter died December 28.. It's been four years but finally, I can celebrate that she's in heaven and no longer has to endure the hardships of this life. I will be thinking about you. Love and hugs

Dean and Lisa, There really are no words of comfort at a time like this, One thing I know for sure is Heaven gained a beautiful Angel! Julie was one of the most selfless people I have ever known.
