Denver Franklin Loan, 69, of Morganton, NC, left this earth for his heavenly home on Thursday, May 21, 2026 with his loving wife of 41 years, Jackie, by his side.

Denver was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from Lowes Home Improvement with over 15 years of service. He also worked as an auctioneer for years in Virginia and North Carolina. Denver also enjoyed working on the farm with his cows and horses. He was a die-hard Ford fan, and he had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis “Dennie” Loan; sister, Doris Sievers; and nephew, Lucas Buff.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2026 at Burkemont Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton and Chaplain Tom Nesbit officiating. Burial will follow in Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Medi-Home Hospice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his caregivers over the last four years, Savannah, Lindsie, Aggie, Amanda, and Paula, and Chaplain Tom Nesbit, who became family to Denver and Jackie.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
