Denver Franklin Loan, 69, of Morganton, NC, left this earth for his heavenly home on Thursday, May 21, 2026 with his loving wife of 41 years, Jackie, by his side.
Born in Augusta County, VA on September 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Denver Craig Loan and Mary Margaret Smith Loan.
Denver was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from Lowe's Home Improvement with over 15 years of service. He also worked as an auctioneer for years in Virginia and North Carolina. Denver also enjoyed working on the farm with his cows and horses. He was a die-hard Ford fan, and he had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His son, granddaughters, and god-daughter were the apple of his eye.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jackie Estep Loan; sons, Travis Loan (Corri); god-daughter, Katie Buff Cochran (Andy), grandchildren, Briley, August, Miller Kate, and Vista Loan; sister, Diane Enterline; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Loan and Jeannette Estep Buff (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis “Dennie” Loan; sister, Doris Sievers; and nephew, Lucas Buff.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2026 at Burkemont Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton and Chaplain Tom Nesbit officiating. Burial will follow in Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Medi-Home Hospice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his caregivers over the last four years, Savannah, Lindsay, Aggie, Amanda, and Paula, and Chaplain Tom Nesbit, who became family to Denver and Jackie.
