Stephen Andrew “Steve” Fisher, 74, of Morganton, NC, departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Born on July 9, 1952, he was the son of the late Claude Harlon and Lillie Mae Jones Fisher.

Steve was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and a lifelong member of the Morganton Elk’s Lodge. He worked as a project manager for Triangle Contractors Inc. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing golf with his friends.

Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Lowman Fisher; daughters, Stacey Coffey (Derrick) and Brandi Clark (Eric); grandchildren, Reid Coffey, Shelbi Coffey, Adah Clark, and Abram Clark; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers, Issac “Buddy” Fisher, Lawrence Fisher, Paul Fisher, Henry Fisher, and Charles Fisher; and sisters, Beatrice Webb, Hazel McNeely, and Mary Ann Morrow.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11am, Friday, July 17, 2026 at Silver Creek Baptist Church with Chaplain Stephanie Pace officiating. The graveside service will follow in the church cemetery with military honors will be provided by the US Army.

Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek Baptist Church or to VIA Hospice.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
