Shawn P. Hood, 57, of Lenoir, NC passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1967 in Illinois to the late Peter Hood and Mary Sue Boyd Hood.
He was raised in the Catholic faith. Shawn was working for Mountain Bizcapital and had worked for BB&T and Capital Bank. He was a bull pen catcher for the Hickory Crawdads and associate scout for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Rob and Sue Hood.
He is survived by a son, Landyn Hood (fiance, Grace York); brother, Robin Hood (Nichole); nephew, Killian Hood; niece, Madeleine Hood; former wife, Kimberley Burns (Kenneth).
A private family celebration of Shawns life will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
