Ronnie Luther Fisher

Ronnie Luther Fisher, 86, of Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on January 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Roy Stillwell and Margie Lou Fisher Stillwell.

Ronnie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Morganton, where he served as a greeter and was active in the youth ministry. He was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and played football, basketball, and baseball. He was inducted into the Glen Alpine Hall of Fame. Ronnie then went on to graduate from Western Carolina University. He taught driver’s education for thirteen years. Ronnie worked for Breeden Poultry and then worked for seventeen years at Drexel Heritage.

He is survived by his sons, Chip Fisher (Heidi) and Steve Fisher (Tisha); grandchildren, Kendall Fisher, Cameron Fisher (Raelee), and Patch Fisher; and a great-granddaughter, Sloane Monroe Fisher.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Marinetta Harris Fisher; and a half-brother, Dwight Stillwell.

A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2026 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Cunningham, Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr., and Mr. Corey Galli officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners, Carolina Caring, or First United Methodist Church in Morganton.
