The space time continuum says good bye to another traveler as the friends and family of Robert Henry Kaipo Chung celebrate his transcendence from this life to the next. Robert was born March 9, 1973 in Loma Linda California. Although he lived the majority of his years in Morganton and nearby areas of NC, Robert was known from the mainland US to his ancestral Hawaiian islands, calling Kailua HI, Redlands CA, and Panama Beach FL home along the way. The first born of ten children, Robert was a fierce protector and guardian of the family he loved so dearly. The ones who knew him best would describe Robert as a man of integrity and honor. He was a seeker of truth and a gifted wordsmith. Accuracy and honesty of thought and word were very important to him. He despised hypocrisy in any form. A natural leader and teacher, Rob loved sharing his views with others. He wanted to be helpful and instructive, although it sometimes meant he could be hard on those he loved the most. He had a way of saying impactful things from a place of honest and genuine concern, always challenging the status quo on the way to broadening his horizons. He surrounded himself with family and an eclectic peer group that all knew and understood him differently, yet loved him all the same. His favorite earthly activities included educating himself through reading and research, achieving high sales while maintaining excellent customer rapport and service, hitting high feathery cuts and crisp draws into the wind from two hundred and twenty yards out (and making the putt), but mostly he liked to think and dream big. Full of creative ideas and perspectives with the willingness to learn and the desire to share, Robert was ahead of his time in many ways. He will be remembered as an innovator of consciousness and a pioneer of thought.

Robert is survived by a large family: including his maternal grandparents, Ottina Haight and Bill Meeks; his parents, Tyla Baudrau and Dr. Keven Chung; siblings, Malia, Mark, Kaleo, Aloha, Matthew, Elijah, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Ellie Chung and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
