Richette Belynda Tate-Gore was born on March 3, 1972 and was "the one and only child" of the late Oscar David Tate and Diann Thomas Tate of the Lake James community of Burke County, North Carolina. She was the granddaughter of the late Samuel A. Tate and the late Dora Baker Tate and the late Tommy L. Thomas and the late Laura Edmonson Thomas, all of Morganton, North Carolina.

She is a 1990 graduate of Freedom High School and a 1992 graduate of Western Piedmont Community College. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She has been married for 26 years to Michael Anthony Gore of Winston Salem, NC and resides in Kernersville, NC. She is the proud mother of two sons Michaelanthony Thomas Gore of Carrboro, NC and Benjamin David Gore of the home.

She accepted Christ as her Savior while in high school and became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Morganton, NC. She has been attending Destiny Christian Center in Greensboro, NC for a number of years.

Her working years included Bank of America in Greensboro; RMIC in Winston Salem; American Bee Company in Kernersville and First Point Background Screening Resources of Greensboro.

She loved making and embellishing crafts and started CREATE IT Creations, an on-line craft adventure to sell her creations. For several years she helped Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church with their Vacation Bible School as a crafts teacher.

For the past sixteen months she has fought a courageous battle with brain cancer and died on March 7, 2026 at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston Salem, NC.

Those that are left to cherish her memory include her mother, husband, sons, in-laws William and Elnora Gore, brother and sister in-law, Dr. Mitchell R. Gore and Dr. Sheritia Faulcon; Aunts: Belinda T. Vinson, Susan Thomas, Sandra Thomas, Vonda Thomas and Audrey Tate; Uncles: Stephen L. Thomas, Frank A. Thomas, Phillip J. Thomas, Samuel B. Tate, Louis P. Tate and Rev. Walter Vinson. Along with two nieces and many lovable cousins among the Thomas and Tate families, classmates and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Willard Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caring Hearts Mission Outreach, PO Box 2013, Morganton, NC 28680.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
