Norma Harwell Gibbs, 87 of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lois; sisters, Janet and Clarise; brother, Gene; children, Tamra and Robert; son-in-law, Sherrill; grandson, Dillion.

Norma joined the Miss Morganton Pageant where she met her husband, Herb, and they lived a beautiful sixty-five years together. She spent most of her adult life as a labor and delivery nurse. She loved helping bring new life into the world. .

Norma leaves her legacy behind with her husband, Herb; their granddaughter, Jennifer (Dusty); their great-grandchildren, Chloe, Will and Leyton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dana McKim officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
