Michael Lloyd Harris, 54, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on May 23, 1968, he was the son of Lloyd Harris and Essie Wilson Harris. Michael was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and he ate Mexican food every Sunday after church. He loved to barbeque, make people laugh, go to the lake, and take his children camping every summer. He was a strong-willed man and hard worker, and he enjoyed electrical work.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Chelsey Bingham; son, Ethan Harris (Jordan); sister, Sheila; brother, Mark (Kim); nephew, Landon; niece, Britny; and girlfriend, Jeanette Brown and her children and grandchildren.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernie and Lloyd Harris, Sr. and Bertie and George Wilson; aunt, Willean Renfro; and numerous other aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastors Bud Harmon and Brian Wilson officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
