Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Susan Ingram (Ken), Doris White (Danny), Jane Roberts, and Nancy Kirk; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Browne; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Powell; and sisters, Doris Smith and Thelma Conley.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev Mark Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jonathan Kirk for all his help with caring for Joan.
