James Jay Suttlemyre, 67 of Morganton, passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Born on September 20, 1957, he was the son of the late James and Martha Suttlemyre. Jay was a graduate of Freedom High School in 1975. He was the owner and operator of Suttlemyre Electrical Service. In high school, Jay was a decorated competitive swimmer. Jays hobbies included fishing, writing music and playing the guitar.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Jadee McCue (Ryan); grandchildren, Sophia and Maci McCue; sister-in-law, Brandy Lingerfelt Suttlemyre; 4 nieces, 1 nephew and 2 great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother Eric Suttlemyre.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Via Health Partners.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
