Gregory “Greg” Wayne Barrier, 63, of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Born in Jonas Ridge, NC on July 12, 1959, he was the son of the late William Reed Barrier and Alvareeta Jane Fox Barrier.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and restoring old cars. He could build or fix anything. Greg loved his family and loved spending time with them.

Mr. Barrier is survived by his wife, Eva McGalliard Barrier; daughter, Misty Barrier Eller (Garry); son, Tyler Moses (Amanda); grandchildren, Garrison Eller, Grant Eller, and Beau Moses; sister, Teresa Lyall; brother, Audie Barrier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by a sister, Marilynn Barrier; and brothers, Tim and Robert Barrier.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Mr. David Poore and Mr. Garry Eller officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
