Frank Davila, 83 of Morganton, NC passed away, Sunday, January 15, 2023. Born on February 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank and Amelia Davila. Frank was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Morganton. He worked at Mount Sinai Hospital, NYC in the Engineering Dept. After retirement he worked at Publix Supermarket in Lawrenceville, GA. Frank enjoyed socializing joking around, and making everyone smile and laugh. He loved his family, the Lord, and spreading the word of God. Frank also enjoyed playing and listening to music and was a Latin Percussionist.
Frank is survived by his wife, Cathy Davila; son, Frank Raynaldo Davila; daughter, Nancy Davila; 3 step-children, John Eagle, Janie Eagle, Carrie Fehlberg; grandchildren, David Diggs, Victor Frank Davila, Noelani Diggs, Elijah Diggs, Mariel Davila, and Elimana Diggs; step-grandchildren, Coleman Eagle, Adrian Seeley, Andrew John's, and Amanda Barrier; and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his brother, Albert Davila; sister, Sandra Davila.
The family will receive friends from 11am until noon, Friday, January 20, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held in the church at noon with the Rev. Marty Bess officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Centered Recovery Program of Morganton.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I met Frank at a time in my life where love, understanding, support and kindness were needed. I loved Frank not because he was family but for who he was. A kind, loving caring, and supportive of Me. To his daughter Nacncy, because of you, I knew Frank. Thank you for allowing me to know your dad, Frank. RIP FRANK.
Pops immediately embraced me when I married Nancy. One of the fond memories of pops was when little David was born. He had the grandfather glow. Other memories include when we went on painting jobs and fixing various things in Lilburn GA house. You will be missed Pops rest in peace
Im my Dads son ,Rennie. I would like to say that losing my Dad has been devstating to me and our family. My father was a hard working man that worked his way up from a painter to assistant engineer at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dad also was a great dancer, was funny had great humor and was great Father to me and my sister Nancy.We used to speak 3 to 4 times a week. I will miss his calls and most of all I will miss you Dad Love you forever. Your son Rennie.

Tio Frankie, I will always remember your delicious Thanksgiving dressing, your love of music, and your upbeat personality. You loved your family and children. You are at rest and eternally with God. We will always watch over our cousins. May God bless you and please kiss Tia Elena for me.
Frank, I will always remember you for BB the respect, humor, and your dancing skills. You loved our home which made you feel like you were in a 5 star hotel. I know that is how you are now...in the Best place God has reserved for you. Peace be with you!
My dad was very creative with wood. He built a lot of wall dividers and book shelves. He was also a great cook. Sunday dinners always consisted of a yummy roast. We both had major sweet tooth’s so Italian pastries were always a must have. He always made sure we went on all different kinds of vacations. Most of all he was a hard working man and an excellent provider. I will miss hus goofy humor. He is at peace now with all his loved ones that have passed on.
I will always remember my teen years with great joy & be grateful for the years you & my sister Helimana, & your brother Albert (dec.), who were of legal age (18+), would take me & my other sister Myrna along (we were under age), dancing at the Palladium in NYC, and other nightclubs in The Bronx, all night long until they closed @ 4:00 a.m. Then take us for breakfast, or to Orchard Beach to watch the beautiful sunrise. My Mom trusted you & Albert so much, she allowed us to go. Subsequently, you & Helimana were married 2/21/1959, until her passing on 8/5/1997. Parents of son Frank Reynaldo Davila, and daughter Nancy Davila. Grandparents of Victor, Marielle, David IV, Noelani. Elijah, Elimana. Great grandparents of Lauren, Alyssa. Damien, Olivia. Nevaeh, & Cassius. May you RIP.
