Elizabeth “Betty” Clark Mull, 85 of Morganton, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born on September 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Fern Clark. Betty was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, where she started the Betty Mull Sunday School Class. She loved to crochet, work in her flower garden, and was an avid reader. Betty also loved to work alongside her husband, Jimmy, and son, Michael, at the hardware store.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jimmy Mull, II (Donna), Timmy Mull (Melissa), Tommy Mull (Karen), Philip Mull (Leslie), and Michael Mull (Wendy); grandchildren, Jimmy Mull, III (Jennifer), Travis Mull (Leslie), Codi Mull, Kaitlyn McKinney (Robert), Mary Jones (Jay), Stephen Mull (Leah), Leah Dixon (Dylan), Garen Mull, Zion Mull, and Sidney Mull; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Randy Clark (Brenda); sister-in-law, Anita Clark; special caregiver, Cassie Duckworth; beloved canine companion, Cokie; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Mull, Sr.; brothers, Tommy, Bruce, Johnny, and Clark; sister, Frances Powell; and niece, Melody Greer.

A graveside service will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. The family will greet friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews United Methodist Church or Amorem Hospice.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Betty was one special lady. I had the pleasure of being in her Sunday School class at St. Matthews. she guided many of us at St. Matthews. Loved sharing good novels with her. She’s happy now because she’s with her Jim.
