Doug and I went to school together for almost all of our school days. He could always make me laugh and his friendship was a treasure to me. I’m so saddened by his passing. He will be missed. Prayers for all of his family and for his many friends. Safe home my friend. Beverly (He always called me by my first name.)

A friend since high school, Doug Weavil always made me smile. I enjoyed visiting with him at our 55th reunion this past September 11th. As always, he was then so happy, so pleasant, so polite. I had no idea it would be our last meeting. He may been been short in height, but few are taller in stature. I miss you my friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I thought alot of him since our Hi-Y days in high school. Working here in Morganton , I only saw him occasionally. Helped me alot in Hi- Y and actually put me in as Chaplain.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of "Dougie," as I used to call him at pickleball. He was always kind and always looked forward to the next time he would see his kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Junia Hastings
