Doug was a bright spot in the lives of his many friends to which he was a source of optimism, encouragement, inspiration and sincere caring. As our well-organized, hardworking USTA tennis team captain he was a patient, diplomatic, and impartial organizer, leader, and role-model who led us to many thrilling victories around NC over several years. In tennis and pickleball he was phenomenally quick and agile on the court, and a great model of sportsmanship. We’ll cherish the many fond memories and inspiration he provided.
