Our precious Mama and Ninny, Doris Christine “Tenny” Piercy McCall, 84, of Morganton, NC, went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on January 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Vollie Adam Piercy, Sr. and Ruby Bell Jackson Piercy. Tenny was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. A feisty lady who was dearly loved, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of her family. With a servant’s heart, Mrs. McCall gave selflessly to anyone in need.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Gary McCall (Kelli); grandsons, Michael McCall and Jesse McCall; sister, Libby Letterman; special nephew, Adam Piercy; sister-in-law, Willa Dean Piercy; brother-in-law, Roy Lee Goins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Tenny was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William McCall; and five siblings, Bill Piercy, Jr., Marie Goins, Howard Piercy, Johnny Piercy, Sr., and Betty Hawkins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Burkemont Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
