Debra “Denise” Causby, 55 of Morganton, NC passed away, Thursday, January 30, 2025. Born on October 23, 1969, she was the daughter of Kathleen Vanover and the late Walter Parton. Denise loved her family and dogs dearly, she never thought twice about taking in a stray. Denise was always bragging about her sons. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others. Denise was a woman of her faith; she loved the Lord. She constantly reminded her children of the importance of a relationship with the Lord and Salvation. Throughout her life, Denise showed great strength, courage, and resilience and this is how she will continue to be remembered.

Denise is survived by her mother, Kathleen Vanover and husband, Joe; sons, Gage Allen and wife, Jenna, Zeb Causby; grandchild, Quinn Allen; siblings, Shanna Smith, Eddie Parton, Tim Parton, Tammy Conner; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until noon, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at noon in the chapel.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sorry for your loss, Denise was such a sweet person. I met her through a friend of hers (Joanne) and we connected like we had known each other forever. She even cooked dinner for me, my daughter, and Joanne. She had a sweet spirit and a beautiful smile. R.I.P Sweetie. Love you and you will be missed.
