Dane Andre Moore, 56, of Drexel, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October, 19, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1969 and raised in Drexel by his mother, Melanie Moore. He was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with all who knew him. He was a family man and enjoyed performing community service. Dane graduated from Tabernacle School where he played basketball and soccer. He went on to Catawba Valley Community College and obtained his Paramedics degree. Dane has been an Instructor at CVCC, Western Piedmont Community College and McDowell Technical Community College. After retirement, Dane continued to work as a paramedic with UNC Blue Ridge at Valdese Family Medical Practice. He became a firefighter at age 16 and was part of Triple Community and Drexel Fire Departments. While training many fellow firemen in the greater community, he also taught CPR and First Aid through Child Care Connections in Burke County for thirty years.

Dane is survived by his wife, Sharon Rushing Moore; children, Delanie Moore, who has his determination and attention to detail, Thomas Moore, who shares his sense of adventure and love of community, and Jocelyn Moore, who has his sense of humor and his smile that lights up a room; a number of extended family members including his nephews and nieces who he though the world of.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas D. Moore and Beulah B. Moore.

The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1pm in the church with Rev. Ethan Cromer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Timothy Project through Catawba River Baptist Association, 1812 US 70, Morganton, NC 28655, a mentoring program for students called to vocational ministry.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dane will definitely be missed, he was a big teddy bear and would help in anyway he could. I always enjoyed coming and watching the fur babies for y'all and he would always check in to make sure everything was good. May you all remember the love he gave back into each of you! May he be healed and resting up for when y'all join him when it's your time, for then it will be a joyous occasion.
