Being welcomed into Heaven by his parents, James and Hazel Hicks; alongside his sister, Virginia Hall; brothers Larry Hicks and Steven Hicks and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Hall and Frank Fredell.
Thankfully, Charlie will stay busy watching down on his wife, April Hicks; his 4 daughters, Abigail Hicks (Lance Postell), Lelia Hood (Andy Phillips), Chasity Hyatt, and Tonya Smith (Allen Smith); seven grandchildren; brothers; Billy Hicks (Tammy Hicks), Jojo Hicks (Trish Hicks), and J.C. Hicks (Beth Hicks); sisters, Joan Vance (Roy Vance), Betty Hensley (Paul Hensley), Susie Fredell, Grace Hicks (Mark), and Rosie Setzer; and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie is forever in our hearts as a loving husband, brother, amazing father, a hero and a protector. Charlie always made sure everyone was taking care of before himself. He has always been such a selfless person even after he got diagnosed with a terminal illness. Charlie was such a strong man even after he got sick and he will always put up a fight and a good fight., “if you die with cancer it’s not a loss. It’s a draw” - Techno. He will never go down without a fight even if it takes him with it, he will never lose. And to this day he has never lost. “Do not let your
hearts be troubled... In my Father’s house are many rooms... I am going there to prepare a place for you... I will come back and take you to be with me.”-John 14:1-3. God needs you now and your room is ready. Charlie's journey on earth was well lived. Making memories, touching the hearts of a lot of people even when he wasn’t aware he was making a difference but he was.
On top of Charlie being an amazing person to his family. He served in the Army for 4 years stationed in Germany. He had the role of special intelligence. Being a good soldier he never told anyone anything from his years serving.
Charlie will be greeted in Heaven by the Lord. “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” -Philippians 1:21. Charlie’s life is just beginning so let's be proud of how far he has gone in life, everything he's done and accomplished. May Charlie rest in peace and his safe travels to his next journey in life.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025 in the chapel of Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum, and the service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel.

Love You Daddy
Charlie. I know we weren't always close, but I know we loved each other and would be at each other's side if needed. I will miss you. You were always in my thoughts and prayers. But now you don't need them. You're already in the Father's house where all want to be. You're gone but not forgotten.
