Brittany Nicole Yancey, 34, of Morganton, NC, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

She was born in Buncombe County, NC on March 11, 1991.

Brittany had attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was working at Global Cleaning Service. She was a good mother and loved and took care of everyone. Brittany had the biggest heart. She loved everyone, especially her two boys and husband, and the boys are mama’s boys. They adored their mama.

Brittany was always there when you needed her. When you saw Brittany, you saw her twin, Chelsey. The bond they shared was unbreakable and strengthened by their shared duty to protect two their two little brothers (Devin and Cody).

She enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone on social media. Her smile was contagious, and her personality was unique and loved. She showed it off with creative outfits, her liking of anime, on her down time.

Brittany is survived by her mother, Angela Poteet Adams (Marshall); husband of 13 years, Cory Carter; children, Elijah Carter and Micah Carter; her twin sister, Chelsey Chatman (Vincent); brother, Devin Yancey; and grandparents, Brenda Stewart (Randy), Donna Bowen, and Renee Poteet.

Brittany was preceded in death by her father, Richard Osborne; and brother, Cody Osborne.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Jack Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
