A man who embraced and nurtured his sense of adventure embarked on the last leg of his journey September 4, 2023 and debarked at heaven's door to be greeted by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

March 7, 1941 was the day he arrived in Burke County to join his father James Isaacs and mother Nona Greer Isaacs. Bill passionately and to the fullest lived out his 82 years. He was a loving and caring family man providing a good living for his wife and children. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend of many. He will be missed by all who knew him.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of sixty years, Jean B. Isaacs; children, Pam Roths and husband, Nick, of Morganton and Randy Isaacs of Morganton; two granddaughters, Jessica Roths of Glendale, CO and Sarah Roths of Morganton; brother, Maynard “Bud” Isaacs and wife, Pansy; brother-in-law, Donald Yelton of Indian Trail, NC; and many nephews and nieces scattered hither and yon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Vaughn, Ernest, Greer, and Carol; sisters, Mable Isaacs, Adelee Stephens, Eloise Woods, and Frances Yelton.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023 at El Bethel Baptist Church. A celebration of Bill’s life will follow at noon in the church with Rev. Justin Cunningham officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, Set Free Christian Fellowship of Morganton, Carolina Caring or a charity of your choosing.

The family would like to thank Carolina Caring and especially Jennifer and Tisha.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Isaacs family, Was so sad to hear about Bills passing. I remember many years ago going to church with him and Jean and the fun we had. He was so good in business when he installed my system back in 94 and still in use today. I know what it is like to loose the rock of the family. Mom and I miss my dad so much but one day we will all be together in a place called Heaven. Big hugs nad love for all of you during this sad time. Roger Hart Barbara Hart

My memories of Bill at the lake as our families gathered together over most weekends in the summers of the 70's will be forever in my recollection. I will never forget Bill's humor and humility when he would trade jokes with dad and others every time they got together. If word has gotten there , I'm sure all the elk in Colorado and Montana are breathing a collective sigh of relief. You will be dearly missed Uncle Bill. God speed on your next journey. Love Monty
