Zodos "Zo" Blevins, 67, of Connelly Springs, NC went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 after an extended illness. Born in Wyoming County, WV on September 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Jesse Newton Blevins and Ova Blanche Acord Blevins. Zo was raised in the Baptist Faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany as a member of the military police. After his service he moved to Burke County where he worked at Morganton Dye and Finishing and also worked as a security guard with United Special Police and Security. His passion in life was hunting, fishing, and camping.Zo is survived by his wife, Jessie McGee Blevins of the home; sons, Jerry Hudson of Connelly Springs and Tony McGee of Granite Falls; a daughter, Robyn Hudson of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Dalton Hudson, Haylee Hudson, Levi Woody, Jacob Hudson, and Dalton Hall; a brother, Fairley Blevins and his wife, Bonnie, of Penbrook, VA; sisters, Vonnie Trent of Petersburg, VA, Maudie Blevins of Morganton, Alvie Graham and her husband, Rudy, of Portsmouth, VA, and Lova Harding and her husband, Plummer, of Washington, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to his parents, Zo was preceded in death by his brother, Wenton Lloyd Blevins; and sisters, Lenore, Vida, and Alma Blevins.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Rose. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Group. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
