Winfred B. Snipes of 4 Cahu Drive, Taylors, SC, passed away at his residence December 9, 2005. The son of the late Glen and Florence Snipes, Winfred was born and raised in Morganton, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Winda Debra Snipes. He was a graduate of Morganton High School and Gardner-Webb University. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, during which he was stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, SC. Winfred was a retired executive of Canal Insurance Company in Greenville. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church and the American Legion.
Mr. Snipes is survived by a loving family and a faithful brother, Max G. Snipes, of Columbia, SC.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005 in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, Memorials & Tributes Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. Sossoman Funeral Home of Morganton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
