Coleen Haynes, 91, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Born in Buncombe County, NC on May 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Chapman and Ethel Denton Chapman. Coleen was a member of Bethel Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She worked most of her life as a seamstress and later as a receptionist at Broughton Hospital.
Coleen is survived by her son, Mike Haynes of Raleigh.
In addition to her parents, Coleen was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Haynes; brothers, Nick and Jack Chapman; and daughter-in-law, Lynn Haynes.
Services will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
