Willie Wellmon Annas, 92, of Rutherford College, NC, went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on October 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bozy Seaton Wellmon and Sarah “Mabel” Poston Wellmon.

Willie was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church where she had served as church secretary and on the Membership Committee. She retired from Waldensian Bakery. Willie loved cooking and assisting with the reading program at the Valdese library. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Willie is survived by her sons, Ronald W. Annas (Linda) and Michael E. Annas (Pam); grandchildren, Roscoe D. Annas (Carly Chang) and Ronald “Corey” Annas; great-grandchildren, Angelina Annas, Myles Annas, and Shoshanna Annas; sister-in-law, Joanne Rhoney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her husband, James Burl Annas; grandson, Joseph David Annas; sisters, Elizabeth Wellmon, Dorothy Boone, Nina Wellmon, and Mabel Wellmon; and brothers, Hershel, Eugene, Frank, and Curtis Wellmon.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The cryptside service will be held at noon at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. April Abernethy, Rev. Dr. Kaury Edwards, and Rev. Joe McRary officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Falling Creek for their excellent care of Mom during her stay.

Ronnie, Mike, and Family, My sincere condolences to you all. As you may know, I worked for many years with Willie. Our office was like a family. Willie was very kind, funny, and ALWAYS a lady.
