William Wayne “Bill” Pickard, 67, of Morganton, NC passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 1, 1959 in Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by William Wayne Pickard and Betty Foreman Pickard who adopted Bill at an early age. They raised him in South Florida until they moved to North Carolina. Bill read his Bible every day. Music was his passion and he played in several bands in Florida. Before he retired, he worked as a transport for McAlpine Adult Care. Everyone who knew Bill, loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janet Smith Pickard; children, Emily Pickard, Tiffany Pickard, Billy Pickard, and Chad Pickard; eleven grandchildren; sister, Kathy Pickard.
The family will have a celebration of Bill’s life at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
