William Timothy “Tim” Duckworth, 79, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on March 17, 1947, he was the son of the late William Roscoe Duckworth and Lola Lucille Chester.
Tim was a veteran of the US Navy and a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed traveling to the mountains, watching racing, and was a master story teller. He also enjoyed laughing, shooting his guns, and playing the dobro.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy Hensley Duckworth; children, Lisa Duckworth Johnson, Tim Duckworth, Jr., Melissa Duckworth, Terry Holland, and Nick Holland; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings; and two precious pets, Thor and Jade.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by three siblings.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
