William Buddy Swink

William Buddy Swink, Jr., 48, of N. Chestnut St., Morganton, NC died unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1960 in Burke County, and was the son of Shirley Poteet Swink of Morganton, and the late William Buddy Swink, Sr. Buddy was a member of Mount Home Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.In addition to his mother, Buddy is survived by his sister, Phyllis Hart and husband, Randy, of Morganton; nephews, Tyler and Brett Hart; his faithful canine companion, Fisher; and a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Mount Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Home Baptist Church Graceful Giving Fund, 2272 Mount Home Church Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
