Willard Theron White passed away on May 1st, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville NC following three years of failing health and one month critical. Willard was born in Alamance County on July 22, 1947, to Willard G. And Sibyl T. White, both deceased. He and his 2 siblings spent their childhood in the Town of Elon, NC. Following his retirement from the Transportation Division of Burlington Industries in Burlington NC, he relocated to the foothills of NC, the home of his Maternal ancestors. He subsequently retired from the NC Department of Corrections in Morganton, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen. He is survived by his daughter Angela King (Tony) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Teresa “Dusty” Wyrick (Blaine) of Gibsonville NC and his two grandchildren, Brody and Blake Wyrick, brother Michael White (Carolyn) of Gastonia, NC and Karen Elmore (Joe) of Mount Holly, NC.

Willard loved the open road and enjoyed his travels across the United States by vehicle and his beloved Honda Gold Wing. He and Helen were members of the Gold Wing Riders Association. He was a lifelong fan of traditional country and bluegrass music.

A graveside service honoring Willard's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery; 5612 John Watts Street, Morganton, NC 28655.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missionary Ridge Baptist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
