Willard “Jack” Feimster, 90, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on July 5, 1930 in Burke County to the late Sherrill Feimster and Cora Pennel Feimster. Jack was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he enjoyed his adult senior group. He was a veteran of the US Army. Jack retired from Drexel Heritage with 38 ½ years of service. After he retired, he worked at CopyMasters in Hickory. Jack was an avid bass fisherman and he made his first fishing boat out of mahogany. He loved to garden and complained about work in the garden.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ellen Huffman Feimster; son, Willard “Jack” Feimster, Jr. (Marilyn); daughter, Sandra Mangum (Jimmy); grandchildren, Jonathan Mangum, Lee Mangum, Daniel, John and Jim Feimster; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Winters.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Douglas Price officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by the NC National Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4754 Old Hwy 18, Morganton NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
