Wesley Ray Turner. 83, of Morganton, NC died Monday, July 6, 2015. Born in Bassett, VA on December 6, 1931, he was the son of the late Artis Turner and Ida Maude Ramsey Turner Sigmon. Wesley was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by daughters, Shelia Monn and friend, Jamie Arrowood, Leisa Adkins and husband, Avery; brother Billy Lee Turner and wife, Betty; step-children, Lee Helms, Kathy Ramera and Helen Brown; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Alice Chapman Turner.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Faith Temple Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Julius Lowery officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
