Wayburn Harrison Alley Ramsey, 87, of Morganton, NC died Friday, January 3, 2014. Born October 24, 1926 in Caldwell County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Hill Harrison and Fannie Bradshaw Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Earl Alley and Guy Ramsey; a son, Gary Lee Alley; a daughter, Cathy Arlene Alley; a brother, Bascombe Harrison; and sisters, Lona Bell Denninger, Arlie Harrison; and Evelyn Queen.Wayburn is survived by a granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Ramsey of Mooresville, NC; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Brown of Mooresville; sisters, Pearl Bryant of Morganton; Willis Alley of Charlotte, NC; and Ruby Pearson of Lenoir, NC; and brother, Vernon Harrison of Morganton.A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the old Williamson Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mooresville with Rev. George Sherman officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Kimberly Alley in Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203. Sossoman Funeral Service and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
