Wanda Webb Tate

Wanda Webb Tate, 44, of Morganton, NC died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Valdese Hospital following a year-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Born August 7, 1968 in Prince Georges County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ray Webb and Nina Jean Hall Webb. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Webb. She attended McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church, and was an employee of Southern Devices for 19 years. Wanda’s first love was her family.She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Tate of the home; a son, David Ray Mull of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, Hallie Jeanelle Mull of the home; a sister, Carol Allen and her husband, Bobby, of Glen Alpine; and nephews, Donald Ray Webb, Jr. and Bobby Allen, both of Morganton and a niece, Deanna Brittain and her husband, Damon, of Nebo. In addition, she is survived by many chosen family members including a "sister" Edna Mourglea, Cozette Townsend, Anita Hudson, Teresa Biggerstaff, Mark Pritchard, Rhonda Chapman, and many, many more. She is also survived by many loving family members in Northern Virginia and Wisconsin.Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Carswell officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
