Walter Fredrick Setzer, Jr.

Walter Fredrick Setzer, Jr., died Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born in Morganton, NC, the son of the late Walter Fredrick, Sr. and Effie Mull Setzer Gallion. He served in the US Navy in WWII. Mr. Setzer was employed with Drexel Furniture Company, Singer Furniture Company and he was Editor of the Hardwood Market Report. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Camden, SC and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Morganton, NC, which he will always consider this as his home church.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Sue King Setzer; children, Kim Wood (Brett) of Ashville, NC and Trey Setzer (Stephanie) of Camden, SC; grandchildren, Taylor Wood, Lexi, Shelby and Piper Setzer; and his sister, Christine Baker of Lenoir, NC.

Mr. Setzer was predeceased by his parents; brother, Gerald Setzer and brother-in-law, Doyle Baker.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Shepherd and the Rev. Fred Schuszler will officiate. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
