Virginia Whisenant Moses, 87, of Morganton, NC went to be with her heavenly family on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Burke Hospice. She was born on August 21, 1928 in Burke County to the late Harrison Henry Whisenant and Gladys Miller Whisenant. Virginia was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Moses retired from Shadowline after 43 years of dedicated service. She loved her family, many friends, and always had a smile for everyone who entered her home. She never met a stranger. She loved to watch wrestling and loved her grand-dog, Gracie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Monroe Moses; a son, Earnest Eugene “Geneo” Moses; and a sister, Edna Stillwell.

A loving mother, Virginia is survived by her daughter, Linda Eaker and fiancé, Ralph Anderson, of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Leslie Ann Moses Benton and husband, Brian, of Morganton and Jason Randall Eaker of Montana; great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Chance Benton; and a brother Harrison Whisenant, Jr. and wife, June, of Morganton.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2015 at Zion Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Keith Rose and the Rev. Stephen Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
