Virginia Ruth Rogers, 94, of Morganton, NC, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Born in Marion County, Indiana on March 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. Branch and Margaret Lillian Smith Branch.

Virginia was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church and retired form Henredon Furniture. She was a fantastic cook, and her hobbies included gardening, growing flowers, and camping. She was loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Timothy Rogers and James E. Rogers (Patsy); daughters, Carolyn Garrison and Margaret Phillips (Jimmy); daughter-in-law, Sharon Rogers; grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers, William Todd Garrison, Jassen Phillips, Brooke Simmerer, and Kelly Rogers; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a special brother-in-law, Stanley Rogers.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Rogers, Jr.; son, Jerry Rogers; and three grandsons, Jeff, John, and Greg.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025 in the fellowship hall of Silver Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at noon in the church with Revs. Dean McCurry and Randy Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
