Committal
Virginia Adeline Carswell McCurry, 86, of Morganton passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in Burke County, NC on January 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late David B. Carswell and Lacie June Yount Carswell. Virginia was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jerry McCurry (Debra) of Morganton; daughter, Pamela Panzer (David) of Hickory; grandchildren, Sharon Collins of Morganton, Stephanie McCall of Morganton, Dr. Alexis Panzer of New York, NY, and Taylor Panzer of Oxford, UK; and great-grandchildren, Makynna, Brayleigh, Sophie, Noah, and Jonah.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin McCurry; and three sisters, Elizabeth Duckworth, Marie McCurry, and Josephine Burnett.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church.
