Viola Cramer Bassinger, 81, of Morganton, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Born in Ohio on August 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Cramer and Doris (Penny) Cramer.

Viola enjoyed shopping and loved her family very much.

She is survived by her children, Robert Basinger (Robin), Vickie Basinger (Jason), David Cheuvront (Lora), Susan Smith (Bub), and Tim Pugh (April); twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim Cramer, Eddy Cramer, David Cramer, Betty Davis (Buck), and Vivian Cramer, and a daughter-in-law; Brenda Basinger.

In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her son, Michael Basinger; and brothers, Richard and George Cramer.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
