Velma D. Tucker, 78, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Born in Rutherford County, NC on May 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dave Arrowood and Velma Hill Arrowood. Velma was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her sons, James W. Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Tilda, of Morganton and Ricky D. Tucker of Asheville, NC; daughters, Denise Tucker, Anita Lynn Sain, and Anna Scarlett Tucker, all of Morganton; sisters, Barbara Childs of Grovetown, GA and Ramona Reynolds of Gaffney, SC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her special canine companion, Jack.
In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tucker, Sr.; a daughter, Terry Tucker Terry; a brother, David Arrowood; and a sister, Gail Kirkham.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
