Tonya Whisnant, 34, of Valdese, NC died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on November 8, 1981, she was the daughter of Mary Ann Pearson Whisnant of Hickory and the late Steve Allan Whisnant. Tonya was raised in the Baptist faith and was currently working at Food Lion in Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whisnant is survived by her children, Gavin Malachi Baker and Landon Shae Baker, both of Marion, NC; a sister, Robin Marie Whisnant of Morganton; numerous cousins who loved her; and her fiancée, Michael Master.
The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Calvary Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerry Whisnant officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 2608, Morganton, NC 28680 to assist with funeral expenses.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
