Toney “Diane” Berryhill, 75, gained her Heavenly home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1950 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Palmer Blankenship and Winifred Walker King. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and worked many years at Drexel Heritage. She enjoyed going to yard sales with her grandchildren, where she taught them how to wheel and deal but she most enjoyed watching them play sports. She always left them with “I love you and don’t you forget it.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Wayne Berryhill; brothers, Michael Ray and Billy Richard Blankenship; and aunt, Daisy Yelton.
Diane is survived by her children, Kimberly Berryhill and Lisa Berryhill Alvis; grandchildren, Vanessa Buff-Townsend (James) and Travis Alvis (Elizabeth White); great-grandchildren, Makaylah Smith, Makenley Smith, and Jamyson Townsend; brother, James Palmer Blankenship (Candy); and a number of extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Herman officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
