Toney Alexander Fleming

Toney Alexander Fleming, 73, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on September 10, 1943, he was the son of the late John Vernon Fleming and Elmena Walker Fleming. Toney was a member of South Mountain Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, panning for gold, and watching races at Antioch Speedway.
Toney is survived by his sister, Brenda Fleming Haynes and husband, Daryl, of Morganton; sister-in-law, Iris Fleming of Morganton; a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; aunt, Beulah Waters; and a special friend, Barbara Fleming.
In addition to his parents, Toney was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Toney Fleming; and brothers, Jerry Vernon Fleming and Daryl John Fleming.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am, Monday, July 3, 2017 at South Mountain Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 11am at the church with the Rev. Chris Annas officiating.
