Tommie L. Duncan

Tommie L. Duncan, 82, of Morganton, NC died Monday, April 7, 2014. She was born in Cleveland County, NC on March 8, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Philbeck and Alma Annie Philbeck. Tommie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was retired from Sara Lee and was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was an avid reader.Tommie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Guy A. Duncan; son, Timothy Allan Duncan; daughter, Caryn Moore and husband, Randy; four grandchildren, Heather Duncan, Jonathan Duncan and wife, Ashley, Ashley Miller and husband, Nathan, Bradley Moore, all of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Noah, Ethan, Aaron Duncan and Jadyn Moore.hTommie L. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Keith Duncan, and by a sister, Annie Ray Bridges.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Emory and Rev. Tim Horldt officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral.
