Timothy “Tim” J. Quilty, 77, of Morganton, NC, and formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 19, 1948, he was the son of the late George F. Quilty and Christina A. Walsh Quilty.
Tim was a US Marine Corps (1st Air Wing) veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours. He then went on to serve as a lieutenant with the Warwick Fire Department for 22 years. He enjoyed flea markets and auctions, and he was known as the joke-man of the community.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Angela Woodworth Quilty; son, Timothy W. Quilty; daughter, Christina Quilty; and a sister, Betty.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a brother, George; and two sisters, Peggy and Mary.
The inurnment service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at the columbarium at Burkemont Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots in honor of Timothy Quilty.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was like a grandfather to me and I loved him dearly and wish he were still here with us he was tough on me cause he new I could do better than I was doing and I will never forget him.
